β¨Let's RENOVATE Highway 78 together! β¨
Does your business along Hwy 78 need infrastructure or site improvements such as parking lot improvements or a grease trap? What about building façade or landscaping enhancements? The Sachse Local Business Grant Program is here to help!
The goal of this program is to improve the Highway 78 commercial corridor by encouraging redevelopment that makes the area an even more desirable place for business to occur, in part by improving aesthetics as seen from the roadway. This matching grant can provide funding assistance up to 75% of project costs, not to exceed $25,000.
Visit www.SachseEconomicDevelopment.com/Hwy78 to view the complete program guidelines and see if your business is eligible! You may also reach out to staff at SachseEconomicDevelopment@CityofSachse.com! β#sachsetxh#localbusinessgrantG#Renovate78ate78 ... See MoreSee Less

How about the aesthetics at Hwy 78 between Ben Davis and Murphy Road, (railroad side, Cornwall Lane backs up to it)? Can I apply as a “resident” to cleanup behind my home and street? I know the railroad is responsible for some of the upkeep, but it has gotten completely out of hand, and the city is partly to blame as well. Maybe someone from this department can contact the railroad about this program or let me know how I could apply. I don’t have a business, but I do run a home that has seen nothing done along this stretch since May 1999, when we moved to Cornwall. The city is offering matching grant money, but our sales tax revenue declined to a 15.08% from this time last year. How can grants be offered when our sales tax revenue has been in decline the last few months? THE SACHSE NEWS June 26, 2025 Sachse sales tax revenue declines From Staff Reports news@csmediatexas.com The city of Sachse received a sales tax allocation check this month from Texas State Comptroller Glenn Hegar for $404,010, a 15.08% decrease from a year ago. Allocations to Texas cities were distributed by the comptroller this month for taxes collected on retail sales made in April. In June 2024, the check to Sachse was $475,764. So far this year, the city has received $2.640 million, a 2.91% decrease from the $2.719 million received for the similar period in 2024. Statewide, the comptroller distributed sales tax proceeds to cities totaling $734.4 million this month, up 5.7% from the June 2024 total. So far this year, cities in Texas have seen an overall average 4.3% increase in sales tax proceeds.
